Rappers & Scarves
First there were doo rags.

Then rappers made the move to the neck, but it was a half-step. They were wearing bandannas or keffiyehs AKA the anti-establishment scarf AKA the scarf people wore back in college before they started voting Republican.

Lil’ Wayne appropriated them for his affiliation with the Bloods gang.

But then rappers went full fancy scarf.

But just now all of a sudden rappers wearing jackets with sleeves turned up start wearing fancy scarves kinda like how 50 Cent wore a doo rag and kinda like how Blanket Jackson wore a blanket.

Like many rap trends, I will claim real drivers here were Dipset.

These guys have been wearing fancy scarves on their heads since 2008.
I’ll continue to watch closely and report back, dear reader.
